Contrary to what the title of the article is, this is not a hit piece on Santorum. So if you are one of those blood-lust attack hounds whose only joy in life is to look up garbage on the internet about people you don't like, then sorry; this isn't written for you.
In the throes of "virtual" battles with words about this candidate vs that candidate, I have come to realize something about myself and I think it may apply to some others. I have to come to realize that in defending Rick Santorum against attacks that I sometimes defend him even though I don't: 1. know what I'm talking about or 2. really agree with what I'm saying.
For example, before I really understood the Arlen Specter situation I was defending him; and at the time I really felt that his endorsement was a bad thing. I have since come to understand his reasons behind that endorsement and I actually agree with him. Point being however, I have sometimes put my candidate on a pedestal to which he can be easily knocked off and having unrealistic expectations of him can effect my own solid support and efforts to promote him.
Rick Santorum is not perfect. There is no perfect candidate running, nor any that have ever run, will ever run, or for that matter will ever exist to even consider running. The fact of the matter is, there was but one perfect being to exist on this earth and he didn't come to lead, he came to serve. Christ Jesus.
