According to Sam Francis (8/12/97), "Writing in The New Yorker of August 4, Joe Klein quotes the Speaker as expatiating on the Tower of Babel in the nation's schools. ‘Do you realize that there are two hundred languages spoken in the Chicago school system?’ Mr. Gingrich asked. ‘That's an asset, not a liability. Let's pair up the kids. You get Sally to speak Cambodian and Sally gets you to speak English. If they succeed we give each of them a thousand dollars. We'd have kids practicing language seven days a week.’

‘ The bill, backed by President Clinton and House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Georgia Republican, would require Puerto Ricans to vote by Dec. 31 on whether to join the United States. Voters would have three choices: statehood, independence or commonwealth status. It mandates a vote every 10 years until statehood or independence gets a simple majority. If a majority of Puerto Ricans choose statehood, the president must submit to Congress a plan that lays out a transition from commonwealth to statehood…” – the Washington Times 3/5/98

“At the core of being American is a thorough understanding of American exceptionalism. We are a nation not defined by place or ethnic heritage, but by the collective understanding that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."’ – Newt Gingrich

“Were as true conservatives consider America as a nation, neoconservatives consider America an ideology. A neoconservative would argue that being an American has nothing to do with you speaking English or loving America. It only matters if you believe in liberal democratic principles. If you do, you’re an American even if you live in Peru. If you don’t believe in liberal democratic principles, you’re not an American even if you live in Pennsylvania…However, if America is an idea and not a people, then there would be no reason not to include other countries into the United States as States in effect creating a One-World Government (many neoconservatives, like Newt Gingrich, support making Puerto Rico the 51st State even though Puerto Rico has a different language, culture, and heritage)…” - myself, The Perversion of American Conservatism [2003]

Below are two columns by NUMBERSUSA Director Roy Beck and a Laura Ingraham YOUTUBE that exposes Gingrich’s Open Borders history.

Finally, don’t buy the 25 years crock that Gingrich apologists like Hannity are peddling. What constitutes “deep ties”? 25 years? 5 years? 24 months? How do you enforce such a cutoff? If, say, you have stayed here illegally for 15 years and, hence, are allowed to stay, then there will be massive document fraud. Heck, the illegals are already stealing social security numbers. As far as “breaking up families” is concerned, no one is advocating mass deportations. What we are calling for is denying jobs to illegals. As far as the illegal immigrant father and grandfather who belongs to a  church is concerned, if he loses his job, then his adult children and his church can take care of him. If he escaped deportation for 25 years and, thus, is totally ingrained in his community, then why does he need to be legalized?
